10 Annoying Chrome Issues and How to Fix Them

3. Reset Browser settings

If the above-mentioned Chrome clean up tool and other solutions don’t solve your problem. You should try to reset your browser setting.

  • Tap to click Chrome menu
  • Go to settings>show advanced settings
  • Scroll down the page to the section Reset settings
  • Click Reset settings> Reset




4. Fix protected system files

  • Right click on the start menu
  • Tap to select command prompt(admin)
  • Type SFC.EXE /SCANNOW

5. Delete user profile

In some of the cases, you receive a message that your profile can’t be open. This problem may cause some of the features to become unavailable. 


Steps to delete user profile
  • Go to menu> settings > sign in
  • Click disconnect your Google account
  • You will see a warning make sure you tick the checkbox to clear your history, browsing data, bookmarks, settings and other Chrome data.
  • Tap to select disconnect.



6. Delete web data file

If the re-adding your user profile doesn’t fix the problem, you should try to delete your Chrome web data file.

Note:-  make sure before doing it, that you are pretty sure this is required and you are aware of what you are doing.

Follow the procedure below

On windows, open Chrome and navigate to C:/Users/
[Username]\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default\ (replacing [Username] with your credentials).
Scroll down to the bottom of the list and delete the file called “ Web data”



On Mac open the terminal and type cd /Users/[user]/Library/Application 
Support/Google/Chrome/Default (once again, replacing [user] with your own details). Next, type rm -rf History*; rm -rf Web\ Data;

In the operating system, restart your system, open Chrome and check the problem is fixed.

7. Delete extensions

In most of the cases, third-party extensions create problems with Chrome and slow it down. Google has no control over third-party extensions,
however, extensions are useful for users are most of the users use them.

Third-party extensions are the real culprits and cause serious issue your Chrome browser. Follow the steps to remove unnecessary extensions.



Click on Menu > More Tools > Extensions. Click the checkbox to temporarily disable them or delete them permanently.

8. Edit Chrome Flags

If your Google Chrome speed is still poor, then try another open. In this situation, you will need to edit the flags.
This is the experimental settings offered by Google so proceed with caution.



9. Disable flash

If you keep getting a message saying Flash has crashed, you might need to disable it permanently. Aside from the obvious security benefits,
it will stop you getting those annoying pop-ups.



To turn it off, type chrome://plugins/ into Chrome’s Omnibox. Navigate to the setting for Adobe Flash Player and click Disable.

10. If all else fails

If nothing works and you’ve exhausted all your options, the final option is to delete and reinstall Chrome.


Doing so can fix issues with Flash, your plug-ins, your search engines, annoying pop-ups, failed updates, and a host of other things.
